Welcome to my website!
![]() | About Kathy MentzerI am an Emergency Care Nurse from Fresno, California. I love wearing open types of shoes, sandals, peep toes, you name them. However,my job requires me to wear closed shoes for long periods of time. Thus, it really became a problem to me when I got nail fungus. My nails became dull, thickened, and brittle which destroyed my confidence in wearing the usual sandals that I love. InterestsWhen I am not at work I love to go and travel with my friends. There's nothing like a road trip ,visiting new places and lots of picture taking. I also love to jog and exercise most of the time. I just love dogs. I have a beagle and a boxer at home. Walking my pets every morning is also one of my favorite things to do. Thanks to my pets I am relieved of stress due to my job. It just feels relaxing having them around after a hard day's work. |
Aspirations
There is nothing much to say as I have a very simple lifestyle. I want to continue helping people as a nurse and do a lot of meaningful things. To keep things simple I just wanna live and be happy.
How I beat Nail Fungus
Remember what I told you about how I got nail fungus? Well being conscious in my appearance, I really hated it. Every time I was off work I would really like to wear open shoes or sandals as I had to wear shoes most of the time. This really put me in a bad mood as I had to wear shoes every time I hang out at the mall with my friends. Sometimes I would feel like crying because of this and I despised every minute of it.
Please bear with my whining as it was not a happy experience for me. This blog post will be about how I overcame my condition with nail fungus. So like I said before, it was a very bad time for me as my nails started to look discolored, ragged and brittle. The worst part is I would feel a slight pain in my skin around and below my nails when I walk. I would be devastated at how my nails look every time I see them.
I did some research that has really helped me. Nail fungus is caused by two things - either fungus or yeast. People usually get it from moist, damp areas like swimming pools and I think that is where I probably got it too. It is also commonly confused with athlete's foot, another type of fungal infection. This infection takes time to cure so be consistent with your treatment.
This condition has really affected me physically and mentally during that time, but I decided not to give up and seek advice from my friends. I had a talk with one of my close friends. We sat down and she saw how bad my nail condition was getting. I told her about how it really had affected me and how it ruined my life. She told me that she would introduce me to a doctor. I gladly accepted and got a consultation.
I met with the doctor and after I followed his prescriptions for toenail fungus treatment. I'm also lucky that my friend helped me with the expenses for the treatment. It was then after that things started to get better for me. I started to feel better about myself again and get my confidence. Thanks to my friend's help, I was able to overcome this bad experience. So here I am, happy and nail fungus free.
